Hi, my name is Bethany Schoon. You can call me Bethy or anything you like, it's fine with me :) My last name is pronounced "skoon", i thought i'd say that because almost everyone gets it wrong. Well anyway, i live in Trenton, Michigan which is located 20 minutes south of Detroit. Pretty cool, right? I'm a senior at Trenton High School this year, and I can't believe how fast it's going by! I've been a christian my whole life, partly because I was raised in a christian household, but I remember being very impacted by what a teacher said at Vacation Bible School when I was five, and I remember realizing at that age that I needed Jesus in my life because I understood that I was a sinner and that He was my only hope for salvation. That is when I first accepted Jesus into my heart as my personal Lord and Saviour. I've been reading a chapter of the bible every night since I was 12 years old, starting in Genesis chapter 1, and I finally finished reading the bible all the way through a couple months ago! I want to impact others for Christ in the way that I have been impacted. Another thing, I love working with kids! I babysit almost every weekend. I live with my Mom and Dad and my two little brothers, named Jacob and Lucas. I love my family, they are such a joy in my life. I've been going to First Presbyterian Church of Trenton eversince I was eight, so being there is kind of like being at home to me :) I attend Youth Group there weekly, and sing in the Praise Band. Singing is definitely one of my passions. I love my friends. I've honestly been blessed with some really good friends that I can count on. I'll be a freshman at Spring Arbor University this fall, and i'm very excited. I'm not entirely sure what i'll be majoring in yet, but I feel called to some kind of ministry. I'm soo excited for this trip, I seriously can't wait!! Anyway, here is a really cool bible verse I read the other night that I want to put in here:
